Who We Are

WiTA is the peak body for Australian female heavy vehicle drivers - driving equality and shaping the future of female participation in the industry.

Our Purpose

providing access to funded training, connecting members to job opportunities and promoting a culture of safety, diversity and inclusion.

What we do

  • Promote female awareness, interest and participation in the heavy vehicle industry.

  • Engage with government and industry stakeholders to improve training and employment opportunities for female drivers.

  • Connect newly licensed female drivers with experienced mentors.

  • Foster a safe and inclusive culture where female drivers can thrive.

  • Advocate on behalf of female HV drivers.

Foot In The Door

WiTA’s FiTD program provides a defined training pathway for women to obtain a Heavy Vehicle (HV) license and find employment. As part of the program, WiTA connects newly licensed female HV drivers to experienced mentors to help them get established in their career. The FiTD program is administered by the NHVR and funded by the Commonwealth.
